Nigel Godrich opens this inaugural series with three very special performances. The incredible White Stripes perform 5 songs, including Ugly As I Seem and Red Rain. The Shins from Portland, Oregon play a selection of tracks from their new critically acclaimed album 'Wincing The Night Away' and Neil Hannon, of Divine Comedy fame delights too. From The Basement begins as it means to go on.
Just another week in the basement: another evening of awe inspiring live performances await. Thom Yorke performs on the piano, Albert Hammond Jnr shines bright and newcomers the Envelopes make their mark. One of Thom Yorke's four songs is 'Last Flowers', an as yet unreleased Radiohead track. Enjoy.
Beck, Jarvis and Jamie. Beck and Nigel Godrich re-unite with four wonderful performances of tracks from the 'The Information' longplayer, including 'Think I'm In Love' and 'Cellphone's Dead'. Jarvis Cocker takes the stage and electrifies as always with four tracks from his debut solo album 'Jarvis' and Warp's Jamie Lidell gives another blistering performance.
It's all about variety. From The Basement isn't scared to let Sonic Youth share the bill with Jose Gonzalez and Laura Marling. A fascinating line-up that doesn't disappoint.
A big show tonight. PJ Harvey, Super Furry Animals lead the charge, and keeping From The Basement's new music credentials intact are performances from hotly tipped newcomers Free Blood and Operator Please.
